The joy of giving makes life blissful.
“Service to humanity is service to God”
– Sathya Sai Baba.

Arati charitable trust was established to provide funding for needy and deserving students in India.

Human life is very uncertain; it is our vision to do something to the society during our lifetime. With this in mind, we decided to create a trust, so that our  vision continues even after our lifetime.

Every human being needs five essential things in life – food, shelter, clothing, education and health. We believe that if health and education are ensured, the  other three things will follow. So the main activities of the trust will be to help the needy achieve good health and education.

The trustees are Mr. V. N. Aravind and Mrs. Malathi Aravind. We imbibed the qualities of philanthropy and service to humanity from Mr. Aravind’s parents and grandparents, Shri. Vembakkam Ekambara Rao and Shri. Khajana Venkoba Rao. The trust is established in memory of Mr. Aravind’s parents, Shri. V. E. Naganatha Rao and Sow. Uma Naganath. Our beloved Guruji His Holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar named our trust “Arati”, which means Total Happiness.

The main objectives of this trust are:

  1. to provide education to all types and grades of people with the view to disseminate scientific, technical and cultural knowledge,
  2. to raise the standard of life & health among all sections of the people,
  3. to institute and award scholarships and/or grant loans, reimburse fees for study & research for all the needy deserving persons.
  4. to assist the poor and suffering by offering them help by way of food, medicine and clothing, and also by contributing to other charitable institutions engaged in such activities.

Arati Charitable Trust was registered under a Registered Trust Deed dated 14.10.2013 with registration number 201/2013. The corpus was raised out of our savings and we started the activities from February 2014. The source of income is through the interest accrued from the deposit made in the banks and from donations.

The Trust made an application for registration under section 12AA of the Indian Income Tax Act 1961 and the order was issued by the Indian Income Tax Department vide C.NO 127(512) CIT-I\CBE\2013-14 dated 24.7.2014.

Donations to the trust are tax exempt under section 80G under the Indian income tax act. Please consult your auditor for more details.

Our near and dear have promised to donate liberally to the trust. We are certain that with the grace of God and the blessings of all, our trust and its activities will grow in the days to come.
